![]() The game probably plays _better_ with a controller since you'll have more options for precise movement. But it does make the character playable on (for example) laptops without a mouse.ītw, regarding the original question: I play this game with mouse & keyboard and imho it's fine. They can often find safe spots from where they can hit the enemies, but can't get hit themselves, which balances out their low HP. I wouldn't play this way myself, since (imho) the free aim is one of the gunslinger's big advantages. However, with the gunslinger, it does limit your aim to the 8 cardinal/ordinal directions. This control method works since the characters that require aiming are usually stationary while attacking, so the movement keys are "free" and can be used to control the aim. I haven't tried the archer, but I suppose you'd control the arc in a similar fashion. With the gunslinger, you press the key for "shoot", and then the directional keys to aim. If you switch it off, you can play the game with keyboard only. (To everyone implying controller is better, OP is specifically wanting to not do that. There's an option for directional (keyboard) aiming in settings, and every action (bar arrow keys) can be remapped if need be, in case the default isn't your jam.ĭashing defaults to single-key, btw, with an option to revert back to RL1 dashing. I can't say how that feels to play, as I have a horrendous trackpad that's a pain to use for anything that requires precision or not click-and-drag-ing, but it's an option.Ĭontrols default to mouse-and-WASD, with arrow keys as a hidden secondary movement control set that can't be removed but can be mapped over with conditional buttons (interact key etc), in case you want up as your interact key again. Keyboard+mouse is also an option, depending on your comfort with mouse (and the quality of what you have). Some of my better runs have been with the ranger, even. The ranger is a bit of a pain to aim without a mouse sometimes, but doable. ![]() I've been playing keyboard-only, so it's definitely possible, particularly if keyboard is what you're most used to. ![]()
